Experimental Polaroid #2, 2023.

Polaroid

While I also shoot 35mm (and desperately wish Polaroid would expand into 35), Polaroid is my medium of choice. Polaroid has been my go-to medium for nearly a decade. The simplicity of the cameras, ease of development (instant, after all), ease of manipulation, and relative cheapness of the film has kept me loyal. I typically shoot on 600. I prefer the sx-70 formula, but 600 is better for the sheer number of test shots I take. I-Type is also great for simple shots, and is a bit cheaper.

I highly recommend Polaroid to beginners. If you are interested in diving into Polaroid, use the code below to get 10% off of your first order. Using the code also helps me out a great deal.

Fade In

When I first started writing shorts for friends in film school I used Final Draft. Over time my frustration with Final Draft grew. A friend recommended Fade In. I have exclusively used Fade In for film work since. It is cheaper, easier to use, and doesn’t crash as often as Final Draft. It can even export to fdx files, which is great for collaborating with writers still using Final Draft, or when using other softwares (such as those in scheduling or budgeting) that require fdx files to convert.

They do offer student pricing as well.
