Note: These “haiku” originally appeared on my twitter account. Twitter limits each line of the “haiku” to 25 characters. That was my only restriction. I do not count syllables for these poems.

there is no sky
desperate
a cup overflowing
into the sea
tears sending a shiver
through
the stone, soundless
wet drippings or razor
what mud becomes
in dream/thoughtless howl
longing and
625 miles
of blossoming love
envy//the rain feels
the sky with its
borrowed hands
the centipede disguised
as the full moon
my hand in yours
the Tennessee River
holding its breath
as the wind blows past
smoke rising
a conversation
on stilts
a mountain flower hides her figure
((the envy of
candle///light))
clay made of ash:
whispers exploring
the rain
the rain holding the sky
in place-
a fog falling
skull she moaned
sacred,
a fancier echo
a constellation of bone
hanging
: life, an abridgment of
the cracks worry about
the splinters::
the splinters the cracks
the break
predicting
the stone
tragic rain
borrowing
time
a shuffle of wind,
secured desperation
wearing a clock
death caring for
a flower//
the river waits
life
a
coda
time wears a hole
into its
own palms
truth a breath
after her,
medicine
beating a shadow
with its own death::
pasture/posture/yes
windows resting;;
her nudity confused
the moon
begotten & conquered::
pleiades knows
the two of you
a study of the apples’
stems and images–
a delightful jail
really blood
after
(all)
rooms approached &
full of dead leaves
– art expedient
a combing of the found//
the hen’s imagination
evolved & possessed
intensity mind
tarantella endwise
breathe
fountain:
caress a fine,
diverse squeeze
