i. cloudbursting (2023)

In 2023 I started my Sunday Sky series, and cloudbursting was the first test for my ongoing follow-up, tentatively titled Experimental Sky.

ii. Memorial Triptych (for Dr. Aaron Richard O. Green, July 4, 1951 – January 8, 2021)

This triptych, adorned with typewritten notes across the front and back of the exposure, was created as a memorial to my friend and collaborator Dr. Aaron Richard O. Green, who passed away in early 2021. In the late sixties Rick performed with The Cockettes and The Angels of Light after running away from home to San Francisco, California. In 1970 he moved to New York City, where he lived at the Chealsea Hotel and become friends with the likes of Patti Smith, Sandy Daley, Gregory Corso, Harry Smith, and Shirley Clarke, all while studying with William Burroughs and Andy Warhol. Later he worked for many bands including The Ramones and Iggy Pop.

“If you feel invisible, the heart, if you’ve any style of survival, eventually becomes enflamed with desire. The desire to communicate. The desire to stand up, be seen and heard. For it is through the desire to communicate that the UNACKNOWLEDGED becomes VISIBLE.

I make art because I am not whole. Because I have a place inside of myself that needs looking at, that calls out for some attention. If I returned to that thing that I’ve never been in the first place, where would my desire to communicate come from?”

-Dr. Aaron Richard O. Green

Some of Green’s artwork can be viewed here. Below are some images of Green from his Chelsea Hotel days.
